ZDNet reports that the site, American Airlines has received approval from the Apple tablet product use U.S. aviation regulatory agency or the Federal Aviation Administration in each flight.
ZDNet said American Airlines was the first airline in the world to be fully approved by the FAA, to use the iPad during the flight. The airline will begin operating the iPad on the B-777, then followed another application to the entire fleet. IPAD IPAD both I and II have been approved for use and through the use of electronic charts and flight
manuals, in order to in-flight safety and efficiency improved significantly.
Other airlines like United, Alaska and UPS are also reviewing the potential of this, but no one has been approved for use in all phases of flight except for American Airlines. Approval from the FAA is a result of accumulation of the test period for six months, where American Airlines flew thousands of hours with iPad for product testing and evaluation.
Alaska Airlines in May, once announced, they began to roll out the use of the iPad as an attempt to replace the manual. Alaska at the time stated, this amortization can help pilots avoid carrying books weighing about 11kg during the flight
