Galaxy S Samsung Establish Position

The success of Samsung's line of smartphones Galaxy S makes this company sent more than 80 million units of smartphones in the fourth quarter of 2010 and according to IDC, this is the first time for Samsung's past that number.

IDC said Samsung managed to sell nearly 10 million phones during 2010 Galaxy S, while the touchscreen phone market gain from developing countries. Samsung also confirms, has sold 2 million tablets in 2010 Galaxy Tab.

Ranked 5th in the list of top mobile phone companies worldwide, IDC put Samsung in the second position with a market share reached 20.1 percent, behind Nokia which controls 30.8 percent in the fourth quarter. The order is the next big five LG, ZTE and Apple, while Sony Ericsson and Motorola are outside the top five list.

Although Nokia is still the number one, a decline in unit reached 2.4 per cent in the last quarter, related to increasing competition. However, when compared to the same quarter in 2009, the volume increased by 38 per cent of smartphones with the release touchscreen smartphone series C7 and C6-01.

LG is able pass through the figure of 30 million units donated by Optimus One, while ZTE benefited by the high number of shipments from China, Africa and Latin America. While Apple, slipped in the fifth position, although more iPhones sold, especially in developed countries.
